All Rules

3-8 players

President

A shedding game with face-up same-rank plays, passes, pile clears, and finishing order rankings.

Goal

Get rid of all your cards before the rest of the table.

Turn Flow

  • A fresh pile can start with a single, pair, triple, or four of a kind.
  • After a pile starts, each play must use the same card count and a higher rank.
  • Players may pass once there is a current play to beat.
  • When every other active player passes, the pile clears and the last successful player starts again.
  • House rules can also let 2s, Jokers, four of a kind, or same-rank matches burn the pile immediately.
  • With run drop enabled, three consecutive same-count plays clear the pile, let involved players drop extra cards, then pass the turn past the run completer.
  • With multi-round mode enabled, the host can fresh-deal the next round while preserving the completed rankings.
  • With role trading enabled, rounds after the first exchange cards before normal play: Bum gives to President, Vice Bum gives to Vice President when present, then the top roles return cards.
  • After role trading finishes, the previous round's Bum starts. The configured starter and 3 of spades do not override this.

Legal Moves

  • PLAY_CARDS with 1-4 cards of the same rank.
  • PASS when there is a current play to beat.
  • By default, rank order is 3 low through 2 high.
  • With 3 of spades starts enabled, its holder starts round 1 and later rounds without role trading.
  • With burn twos enabled, 2s leave the normal rank order. One 2 burns singles or pairs, two 2s burn triples, and three 2s burn quads.
  • With joker burn enabled, one Joker burns any active play.
  • Enabled 2 and Joker burns can also clear an empty pile.
  • With four-of-kind bombs enabled, any four of a kind burns an active pile.
  • With same-rank burn enabled, matching the current rank and count burns the pile.
  • With burn-last auto-last enabled, going out with a 2, Joker, or bomb burn takes the last available place.
  • Same-rank burn last-card auto-last is a separate optional rule.
  • During run drop, involved players may DROP_RUN_CARDS up to the run count or SKIP_RUN_DROP.
  • After a completed multi-round game, the host may start the next round from the same match screen.
  • During tribute, automatic highest/lowest exchanges are server-selected. Any-card exchanges require the current role player to submit the exact card count.

Winning

The first player out is place 1. When only one unfinished player remains, the final ranking is assigned and the game ends.

Current MVP Limitations

  • Role trading starts only from round 2 and requires multi-round mode.
  • Three players use President and Bum only; four or more also use Vice President and Vice Bum.
  • No two-deck mode yet.
  • No revolution or skip rules yet.
  • No scoring across rounds yet.
  • Jokers, burns, bombs, 3 of spades start, burn-last auto-last, same-rank burn auto-last, and run drop only apply when the host enables those house rules.
